Influences on Belfast Punk ranged from the UK bands such as The Clash and Sex Pistols to US bands like the New York Dolls and Talking Heads.

The Ramones were also hugely influential on NI Punk. According to Brian Young, they were Rudi's biggest influence.

But one of the major influences on Ulster Punk was Dr. Feelgood, as the good Doctor was one of the very few acts to actually tour the North in the 70s. Thus help influence the more musical style of NI Punk.
