ADOPTED. Thank You!

Nonna's Glory is searching for his person. This guy raced and was bred in Maryland and ended up in a sticky situation in another state. Thankfully, his original connections followed him and organized shipping him back to Maryland to retire. The 16.1, 2017 gelding did have surgery to remove a chip in the knee and has a good prognosis. If you meet this sweet fella, we're pretty sure you won't be able to resist his good nature. Contact New Vocations in PA for more information. (Posted September 2020)

Allthewrongreasons

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Allthewrongreasons is a very special horse. This guy ran his heart out hitting the board in most of his starts. Unfortunately, he has a knee that is in bad shape. He most likely will need a home as a pasture pet or companion horse. It is possible that he may be able to be used just to walk on. Ducky

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Ducky is as cute as her name! You couldn't ask for a better, all around filly. She is 4 years old, about 15.3h and sweet and quiet. This lady is retiring sound because she was not competitive enough as a racehorse. The trainer's family wanted to keep her as a pony horse but unfortunately weren't in a position to be able to do so. Their loss is your gain! Give this lady a great homeland she'll give you great partnership! Meet her at After the Races. (Posted July 2020)

The Facility
Unnamed- Vancouver x Sanvika

ADOPTED...THANK YOU!

This 2018 filly with no name is a blank, sweet slate! Her suspensory ligaments were getting inflamed during training probably due to the fact that she toes in a little. Her responsible owner and trainer decided to retire her before she ever raced. We didn't get a photo that does her justice but if you are willing give this gal some time off, she should be fine for most disciplines. Contact MidAtlantic Horse Rescue for more information. (Posted July 2020)

The Facility
Midnight Cry

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Midnight Cry is a classy gentleman. Standing a good 16.3h, this quiet fella unfortunately has come chips and arthritis in his knees. We had a well-known surgeon look at the x-rays and she said surgery would not help but a little time off would. Because of his knee issues, he will not be suitable for jumping, but would make an excellent trail horse. Keep Midnight Cry on your radar and contact After the Races for more information. Meet him in person at MidAtlantic Horse Rescue. (Posted July 2020)

Orbiting the Moon

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Orbiting the Moon is a 15.2h, 2016 mare retiring sound. This young lady was just too slow to be a racehorse...that's our kind of gal! She is by Kentucky Derby winner, Orb. Full of potential, we think Orbiting the Moon is certainly worth looking at. Meet her at New Vocations in PA. (Posted 2020)

The Facility
Elysium

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Elysium has been through the ringer physically but she is one tough, kind lady. This solidly built, 15.2h+ girl had surgery to fix a slab fracture and also has arthritis. When she was finally finished stall rest the other day and able to be turned out in a very small paddock, she promptly escaped and climbed a mountain of millings. There is a picture of her looking majestic up there surveying the landscape to prove it. We are not sure of her prognosis for riding at this time. We are hoping someone will fall in love with her and her lust for life and give her a home as a companion pasture ornament. Contact MidAtlantic Horse Rescue for more information. (Posted June 2020)

The Facility
Baby Boy

ADOPTED...THANK YOU!

Baby Boy is a sensible 3 year old gelding. Standing about 15.3h, this guy needs some time off for some degenerative changes in his pastern. After some time off, he will be ready to roll, though we do not think any intense upper level work is in his best interest. You can get more details on this nice all-arounder from MidAtlatic Horse Rescue. (Posted June 2020)

The Facility
Charlivin

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Charlivin is an awesome 3 year old, 15.3h filly that may still grow. The assistant trainer in her barn loves her and says she is a kind and special horse. She had a slab fracture repaired by nationally known surgeon, Dr. Patty Hogan and has an excellent prognosis. Surgery was done in May and she will need a few months off. This picture does not do her justice. Contact MidAtlantic Horse Rescue to see this sweetheart in person. (Posted June 2020).

The Facility
Not A Chance

ADOPTED..Thank You!

Not A Chance is a personal favorite. This 16h, 7 year old had both of his knees surgically cleaned up months ago. There is everything to love about him. By All accounts he is extremely kind, easy to handle and is a great sensible age. He will be somewhat limited by his knees but don't we all have something to deal with? Contact MidAtlantic Horse Rescue for more information on this big love. We are certain you'll be glad you did! (Posted May 2020)

The Facility
Jefazo

ADOPTED...THANK YOU!

Jefazo is a hunk! This 16.3h, 5 year old gelding by Street Boss is the real deal! Unfortunately he sustained a sesamoid fracture but per nationally known veterinary surgeon Dr. Patty Hogan, "These do fairly well enough to be riding horses..." She recommends 4-6 months off so this catch should be available around November 2020. He will be a bit limited but he is definitely worth keeping on your radar. Keep tabs on him with MidAtlantic Horse Rescue. (Posted May 2020)

The Facility
Top That

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Top That is a 15.2h chestnut filly. Don't let the old wives tale about chestnut mares keep you from a great horse! She is only 3 years old and has had some time off for inflammation in her right knee. She is just about ready to roll and should have no hard limitations. She will be part of After the Races' Chestnut Mare Initiative program. Contact them for more information about this unraced filly. (Posted May 2020)

Flip

ADOPTED...Thank You!

Flip is a 2016 gelding by Dubai World Cup, Breeders Cup Classic and Preakness winner Curlin. Standing at least 16.1h, this level-headed gent has some old chips and arthritis in his knee. He will be somewhat limited due to his knee issues but he will be fine as a lower level mount. Meet him in person at New Vocations in PA. (Posted May 2020)
